Algra develops Touch control panel for Stadler’s Class 777 trains.
Algra, an innovative provider of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions, has developed a Touch control panel for Stadler’s Class 777 trains in use in Liverpool. This state-of-the-art HMI solution was designed to meet the demanding requirements dictated by Stadler, and Algra worked closely with them to deliver a fully integrated solution. The door interface module features Force sensing technology and includes RFID recognition function for the train driver, and an LED door status display. The complete module enhances the way passengers and operators interact with Stadler’s Class 777 trains.
To ensure the control panels were easy to use for train operators, Algra developed an input system for the HMI that works with advanced strain gauges. The “DYNAFORCE technology” sits directly under the casing and registers even the slightest pressure from the outside, making it operable even with gloves or wet fingers.
Algra’s Hygienic Design for Control Panels in Stadler’s Class 777 trains
One of the most important factors for the control panels was quick and hygienic cleaning, as over 100,000 passengers travel on these trains daily. To address this, Algra manufactured the complete operating panel with as few key fields as possible and without any visible screw connections or key openings.
Thanks to the close collaboration between Algra and Stadler, the resulting HMI is a perfect fit for the new Stadler Class 777 trains, and can even be retrofitted in other suburban trains without much effort due to its sophisticated design.
