Customer Notice – Display Driver IC’s price and lead-time increase
Diamond HMI have received details from several of our suppliers that there will be price and lead-time increases for Display Driver IC’s parts. Increase in demand for IC parts, effecting manufacturing capacity, and increases in manufacturing costs for fabrication and raw materials (gold) affecting pricing.
We have been advised that lead-time extensions could be between 2-6 months, therefore to avoid material shortages delaying future orders, please can customers review their order schedules and place orders as early as possible to ensure time-sensitive projects can be managed accordingly. Price increases will be between 20-30% and may rise slightly again in the last quarter of 2020.
This has been an ongoing issue for several years, however, increases in remote working generated by COVID-19 has driven demand for display panels. With the need for PC, tablets and remote devices increasing. We have been advised that these delays are expected to last until at least June 2021, and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. We will continue to provide information on the issue as and when we hear any news from the suppliers.
